Mattie Stine, Head Softball Coach at Louisiana Christian University, is a powerful example of what it looks like to be called, planted, and poured out right where God leads.
An alum of LCU (Class of 2018), Mattie didn’t grow up in Cenla—but it didn’t take long for it to feel like home. Through her time as a student-athlete, she built lifelong relationships and experienced a community that shaped her far beyond the game. That impact is what led her to stay and now give back in such a meaningful way.
After coaching travel softball during college and a season at Bolton High School, Mattie returned to LCU as an assistant coach from 2019–2025. Now stepping into her first year as Head Coach, she brings both passion and continuity to a program that has always been about more than softball.
At LCU, it’s deeper than wins and losses. It’s about developing young women in their faith, building lifelong friendships, and preparing them for life beyond the field. Many come for the sport—but leave transformed in who they are and what they believe.
For Mattie and her team, being for the community means being the hands and feet of Jesus. It’s in the small moments—encouraging others, serving locally, showing up with love—that their true impact is made.
What she loves most about Cenla? The way people show up. The support, the connection, the willingness to invest in others—it’s something her team feels every day and strives to give back in return.
Her vision is clear: to build a culture marked by faith, selflessness, and love—raising up strong, confident women who carry those values wherever they go.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the game—it’s about the lives being changed along the way and this is why Mattie Stine is our next FORCENLA Hero!
