We are proud to highlight another outstanding alumna, Cara Larkin, who graduated with her Master of Public Health (Health Systems Administration & Policy) in Spring 2026.

Prior to beginning her career as a Senior Coordinator on the Healthcare Innovation Engine at SciTech Scity, Cara first realized that she wanted to pursue public health after working at an urgent care center for three years. While she previously planned on going down the Physician’s Assistant route, she opted to learn more about the preventative side of healthcare after working directly with patients from the urgent care center. Here, she realized how much more could be done in terms of prevention and addressing the factors that affect peoples’ health before they reach the point of needing urgent or emergency care… or otherwise “staying upstream!” Cara is passionate about helping create systems and solutions that allow people to live healthier lives, which she feels is her place in healthcare.

We are extremely proud of all of our alumni who are making a difference and supporting their communities every day.

We are proud to highlight Dr. Zachary M. Ehrlich '13, an outstanding alum who was a Public Health Minor, (Geography (urban studies conc.) Major; additional minors in Anthropology and Environmental Justice)

Dr. Zachary Ehrlich's passion for public health began after realizing that public health was a culmination of his many interests, including science, health, the environment, and community service! Both of his parents worked in healthcare, which helped plant the seed early on. This was especially reinforced after taking Intoduction to Envorinmental Health with Prof. John Biegel at Montclair, as it sparked his interest in environmental health as a career path. He then became a licensed REHS, which was the ultimate starting point for the work that Dr. Ehrlich does today.

Dr. Zachary Ehrlich currently works as a Public Health Planner at the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services, is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist, and also holds additional degrees of a MPH and DrPH, which were inspired by his time as a public health minor at Montclair.

We are incredibly proud of our alumni who are making a difference and supporting their communities every day.

We are proud to highlight our Public Health Alumna, Marsha Duncan, MPH!

Marsha's passion for public health began while working as a medical assistant, where she witnessed firsthand the gaps in patient advocacy, health education, and access to care affecting marginalized communities. Those experiences inspired her to pursue public health and become a voice for underserved populations while helping improve systems that impact community health.

We are incredibly proud of our alumni who are making a difference and supporting their communities every day.

Who likes playing a good ol’ game of hopscotch? Today, the Department of Public Health participated in the “meet me at recess” employee mixer where we played “Employee Health is Public Health” hopscotch. Participants filled in the squares of our hopscotch boards with initiatives and ideas on how the University can enhance and promote employee wellness on all different levels! We received some really neat and creative ideas!
