Pittsburg State University's comprehensive capital campaign will include the renovation and modernization of two adjoining science buildings, Heckert‑Wells Hall and Yates Hall, representing a $53 million investment in students, the university, and the region.

The multi‑phase project will transform facilities that serve nearly every Pitt State student and are foundational to high-demand programs in science, healthcare, technology, mathematics, and cybersecurity.

Accreditation has been renewed through 2032 for five Engineering Technology programs and the Construction Management program at Pittsburg State University by two commissions that are part of ABET — a nearly 100-year-old national accrediting organization.

Opportunities for students in Pittsburg State University's Automotive Technology program extend far beyond the classroom, thanks to strong industry partnerships, nationally recognized faculty, and state-of-the-industry laboratories that provide hands-on experiences unavailable at many institutions.

The latest example came this fall, when about 30 Pitt State students joined with about 25 automotive technicians from across the U.S. for a first-of-its-kind certification training developed by the Mobile Air Climate Systems Association (MACS).

🩺 A proud moment for our International Gorillas!

The Fall 2026 Nursing Professional Recognition Ceremony celebrated the dedication and achievements of students from the Pittsburg State University Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing as they reached an important milestone in their professional journeys.

During the ceremony, students received their professional nursing jackets, symbolizing their transition from nursing students to future healthcare professionals. The jackets also represent their commitment to patient care, ethics, responsibility, and service to others.

We are especially proud of international students Emilio Cereceres from Mexico 🇲🇽 and Sadikshya Bista from Nepal 🇳🇵. This achievement celebrates not only their academic success, but also the dedication required to complete their studies far from their home countries and families.

International students at Pittsburg State University recently celebrated an important milestone as they were inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the National Leadership Honor Society.

ODK recognizes students who demonstrate leadership, academic achievement, service, and exemplary character. The Society promotes the values of collaboration, inclusivity, integrity, scholarship, and service, making induction a meaningful recognition of students who are making an impact both inside and outside the classroom.

Among the newest international student inductees are:

🇲🇽Frida, from Mexico, who earned her master’s degree in School Counseling Psychology and currently works at Pitt State as an Academic Advisor.

🇵🇾 Gabriela Mongelos, from Paraguay, who is majoring in Piano at Pitt State.

🇧🇩 Shuvodip Barua, from Bangladesh, who is pursuing a Master’s degree in Physics.

Also inducted was 🇺🇸 Lily Ort, who serves as Treasurer of the International Student Association (ISA) and demonstrates her commitment to leadership and involvement within Pitt State’s international community.

Their induction into Omicron Delta Kappa reflects more than academic success, it recognizes the leadership, service, and involvement these students bring to the Pitt State community. ❤️💛
