Black Student Association,
The past two years I have been president have been the most formative years of my college career. I am beyond grateful for the opportunities this amazing organization has provided me. Black Student Association has connected me with alumni and supporters of the university from across the country, taken me to Big XII where I have met so many amazing people, and taught me so many valuable life lessons. I have grown as a leader and person, and have jumped into situations I never imagined. I have learned to stand up and fight for what I believe in to protect the people I care about. Black Student Association gave me a home at Pitt State. It’s given me the best friends in the world, people who show up and love wholeheartedly. People who, no matter where you are in the world, will always scream the loudest for you and smile the biggest at your accomplishments.
Thank you for the laughs, the love, and most of all thank you for making college and Pittsburg hard to leave. I may go far, but I’m always a phone call away. I love you guys. I am so proud of every single student who passed through our doors and thankful for your impact on me. Thank you for allowing me and choosing me to serve as your president.

We had 5 graduating seniors added to our Graduating Gorillas wall this semester. This group of seniors is going to change the world, just like they’ve changed our club and Pitt State! We know they’re going to do great things wherever they go!! OAGAAG

Join Black Student Association in a dodgeball tournament. Teams can include 5-8 players. The entry fee is $10 per team. The winning team will win one of a kind tshirts! Join us at 6:30pm to watch the tournament! If you would like to form a team Sign up at link in bio!!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr worked for civil rights and justice. On January 15, Dr. King’s birthday, four of our students (Devontey Gridiron, Kennadie Campbell, Khadija Pitts-Ceesay, and Josiah Sapp) joined The Gordon Parks Museum and Fort Scott Community College Men and Women’s Basketball teams to celebrate Dr. King by reading his Letter from the Birmingham Jail. Today, and everyday, we remember him and appreciate his life and legacy.

2025 Winter/Fall Semester Recap:

Gorillas!
Another amazing semester. We did so much, welcomed so many new members, and worked to serve and honor our community. We had a day dedicated to service and improving our community building. Then, we hosted an open house to kick the year off. We did a thrift fundraiser (and then we did it again)! We are proud to still be calling the Carver Social League of Pittsburg home and working with The Gordon Parks Museum. Thanks to generous donations, we have been able to further furnish the Carver League. If you have any furniture you’re looking to rehome, we know just the place for it!

A message from the President:
“What a semester it has been! We have welcomed so many young men and women to Pitt State this semester, it was so beautiful to see how full meetings were and the laughter that echoed off the walls. I am proud to say we’re a vibrant, alive, and growing organization with many leaders. I couldn’t be prouder to be the President of this organization. Black Student Association is full of strong, passionate, and intelligent students and I’m so lucky to be surrounded by them!”

Congratulations to our Fall-Winter 2025 graduate, Jonovan Foreman! It’s tough to see JP go, but we know he has big things ahead of him, and he’ll always be a part of the BSA family. Congrats, JP, thank you for everything! 🎓❤️💛
