Tomorrow is Pitt Day of Giving, an annual day when students, faculty, staff, alumni, and benefactors of the University of Pittsburgh come together in support of its mission of learning, growing, innovating, and planning for a brighter future. We hope that you will make a gift in support of the Ford Institute for Human Security.

The best part is this – no donation is too small. On Pitt Day of Giving, schools compete for “bonus funds” from the University, which are awarded based on number of individual donors, not total amount raised. Even a $5 gift can help us compete for those funds. Two years ago, GSPIA won $15,000 in bonus funds, which supported 7 domestic internships, 7 international internships, and 4 students attending conferences to present their research.

You can donate directly to the Ford Institute using the link below, and you don’t have to wait until tomorrow! Contributions to Ford count to the total for GSPIA. If you’re willing, please help spread the word by sharing the link on social media, using Thank you!!

This is what equity looks like! The U.S. is poised to release the first official passport with a nonbinary "X" option for gender. They'll be available after the State Department updates its systems in early 2022, and will make traveling internationally a more inclusive experience.

After a lawsuit, the Biden administration promised this year that it would make the documents more inclusive for people who identify as nonbinary, intersex or gender-nonconforming.
