The Rowland School of Business is proud to highlight another one of our summer camps, ACAP (Accelerated Career Awareness Program)!

The Accelerated Career Awareness Program (ACAP) increases awareness of accounting careers among underrepresented high school students.

The ACAP Summer Program introduces students to the accounting, business, economics and finance professions through an educational and interactive curriculum involving industry professionals, university faculty and business, government and community mentors.

The program also provides the following benefits:
πŸ“Š| Prepare students to pursue higher education (college application process, FAFSA, scholarships)
πŸ“Š| Inform students about career opportunities available in accounting, business and finance
πŸ“Š| Teaching skill sets relevant to the field of business (i.e. interview skills, resume building, etc.)
πŸ“Š| Connect students with industry professionals and mentors

Stay tuned next month for updates and event recaps! πŸ‘πŸ’šπŸ’›

Last month, Pittsburgh hosted the 2026 NFL Draft. Some of the festivities were near campus, at Point State Park, and in the city's North Side.

Many Rowland School of Business students were able to participate in the Draft in various forms, including the Sports Management major, Savannah Kitchen. She currently holds a Brand Ambassador Internship with the Pittsburgh Steelers and, through this opportunity, has gained valuable experience in sports and events operations! 🏈

On Thursday, April 9, Point Park accounting students Alina Bigec, Terry Craig, and Natalie Diaz-Molina earned 2nd place at the IIA/ACFE Student Case Competition.

Each spring, graduate and undergraduate teams from universities across the greater Pittsburgh region compete in this event. Teams select from a range of case questions; Point Park’s team researched and presented on: β€œWhat is the impact of emerging technologies on Internal Auditing and/or Fraud, including the effects of AI, blockchain and data analytics on internal audit practices?”

With this year’s result, Point Park has placed 2nd two years in a row. We’re incredibly proud of our students and look forward to continuing to compete for years to come. πŸ‘πŸ’šπŸ’›
