Congratulations to Katie Zacharatos (English, ‘26) for presenting her research at the URSS. Katie’s project is entitled, “Minor Feelings: Publishers’ Search for the ‘Ethnic Narrative.’” It incorporates qualitative and quantitative research, as well as interviews with many local writers, poets, and publishers. Katie also presented an extended narrative version of this project at the 2026 Sigma Tau Delta convention in New Orleans, Louisiana this spring. Well done!

Jayda Benson holds a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Writing and Literature from Duquesne University, but she's not stopping there. 📚

What's next? The One-Year MBA program!

“I think that my analytical, writing, research and communication skills will lend themselves really well to this program while giving me a new skill set that will offer flexibility and broaden my horizons!”

Jayda is grateful to Duquesne University Liberal Arts for encouraging her to "push the boundaries of what an English major is or how an English major is perceived." Through internships and hands-on learning, she already has experience writing grants and creating annual reports.

Jayda will apply her skills as a Graduate Research Fellow, assisting Dr. David Wasieleski with research in business ethics.

"I’ve always had a wide array of interests, and Duquesne has always supported me.” ❤️
