Hi everyone, my name is Jingwen Li. I studied ESL at Duquesne University and now I am in music performance. This is my second year at Mary Pappert School of Music, and I will graduate this fall semester. In my future career goal, I am planning to do art education. It was hard to face a totally different culture, as an international student I need to deal with my language, life, schoolwork, and so on. But luckily for me, I have met so many teachers who taught me a lot and how to fix those things. Once when I took an online class, my professor's computer was dead, and he said he needs to put some juice on his computer. I felt so puzzled about that. After finished the class, I searched online for the sentence, finally, I got the meaning, the juice like power. I just found slang was so funny!!

“As a University founded by immigrants in order to provide education to immigrants here in Pittsburgh so they could advance themselves, we are committed to doing everything we can to help those students who have chosen Duquesne. We value their presence on our campus and in our programs, and we support their work and commitment to their studies. The new federal regulations raise serious concerns and will create challenges. We do believe we can overcome them for our international students. We have reached out to students to provide support and assistance, and because Duquesne will be operating this fall with a hybrid mix of in-person and remote instruction, it is likely most or all of our international students will be enrolled in in-person courses.”
-Dr. David Dausey, Provost and Executive VP for Academic Affairs
