Last semester, 17 Pittsburgh-area high school students came to the University of Pittsburgh's campus for the 18th annual Integration Bee! Organized by Pitt Math professors and CHS faculty liaisons Roxana Popescu and Linhong Wang, this event saw students from CHS-affiliated schools dominate the podium—including winner Alexander Chen from Shady Side Academy!

Last month, CHS Argument students put their debate skills to the test in the annual Argument Smackdown! 🗣

20 students from 11 schools throughout Pennsylvania duked it out in one-on-one SPAR debates on April 7, and 130 spectators—mostly consisting of their classmates—came to show their support. In the end, Quaker Valley School District's Zora Washington delivered an impassioned final debate to claim the belt from the reigning champions at South Fayette Township School District 🏆

They came, they saw, they learned! Dr Ellen Lee, who oversees the CHS program's Latin courses, hosted a day of hands-on learning for high school Latin learners, including many Pitt CHS students.

Overall, more than 50 visitors came to the University of Pittsburgh's Hillman Library to view historical manuscripts, try out a printing press from the 1800s with the Center for Creativity at Pitt, and explore recreations of ancient Rome through VR and 3D printing with the Open Lab at Hillman 🏛

Thanks to our guests from The Ellis School, Avonworth School District (Official Page), Baldwin-Whitehall School District, and North Hills High School - plus, of course, the event's organizers from the University of Pittsburgh Department of Classics!

The University of Pittsburgh is proud to have hosted the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) for its Spring Accreditation Institute this week! Today, we were honored to be joined today by Senator Lindsey Williams, who is championing the conversation around dual enrollment in our state government 🏛️
