Puja Patel and Wendy Ni represented the Athletic Training Program at the Pitt Health Sciences Center for Interprofessional Education’s first Clinical Skills Fair on April 16, 2026. The event brought together students from programs across the six health sciences schools and the Pitt School of Social Work to demonstrate skills unique to their respective fields while promoting interprofessional collaboration and education.

This weekend we celebrated an incredible group of individuals who have officially completed their MSAT degree!

After countless hours of coursework, clinical experiences, studying, and even a few puppy exercises along the way, this group has truly earned this moment. We couldn’t be more proud of all they’ve accomplished and the growth they’ve shown throughout their journey.

We will miss this group, but we can’t wait to continue celebrating them as they step into the next chapter of their personal and professional lives as alumni of the University of Pittsburgh Athletic Training Program. CONGRATULATIONS, graduates!

Shout out to our MSAT 2 students who completed their research presentation this afternoon!

Care you can count on starts with hands that know what they’re doing.

Our students develop manual therapy and exercise intervention skills that help them assess, treat, and restore function with confidence. Through hands-on training they learn to:

✔️ Perform IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) to address soft tissue restrictions, lymphatic drainage, and pain modulation
✔️ Apply joint mobilization techniques to restore proper joint mechanics and reduce pain
✔️ Safely perform joint manipulation to improve movement and functional outcomes
✔️ Use muscle energy techniques to correct joint dysfunction and restore mobility through patient-assisted contractions
✔️ Design and prescribe corrective exercises to reinforce proper movement patterns and prevent recurrence
✔️ Evaluate movement dysfunction and select the most effective manual therapy intervention

By the time they graduate, our students don’t just learn techniques they master the art and science of manual therapy and corrective movement to deliver results their patients can trust.
