The Nate Fox Scholarship Fund was established by many close friends and family of an extraordinary individual who was taken senselessly from us well before his time. Nate was a standout athlete at Plainfield High School competing in both football and basketball. He was recruited heavily by many division I schools in both sports eventually deciding to pursue basketball with Boston College. He then
transferred to the University of Maine where he had his most successful college years averaging 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds and named to the First-team All-America East. After graduating, he played professionally in Europe for twelve seasons. Nate was widely considered to be one of the best players in the European leagues. Some of his career highlights include receiving MVP in the Baltic Basketball League, being named to the All-KML First Team, winning the Estonian Cup with BC Kalev/Cramo and ending his career winning the Belgian Cup with Okapi Aalstar. To honor Nate's impressive and successful career the Nate Fox Scholarship will be awarded to a Plainfield High School athlete. Nate was one of the kindest most giving people many of us have ever known. He always had a smile on his face and brought life and laughter to every occasion. Nate was truly one of a kind: wise, loving, determined, loyal, stubborn and inappropriate for all the right reasons. Even as his comments became more and more inappropriate, those surrounding Nate understood the huge heart he had for all those around him. There was just something about Nate that struck the chords in the hearts of his loved ones. He was an honest person with wonderful morals and extremely passionate about his family. Nate was an adored son, beloved brother, loyal friend, devoted teammate, playful uncle and endearing soulmate. He touched the lives of so many. His life, laughter and memories will never be forgotten.
