Today we shared the heartbreaking news that Goddard College’s Board of Directors has decided to close Goddard at the end of the Spring 2024 Term. Despite decades of dedicated efforts to sustain the institution, the college could not overcome declining enrollment and inflationary pressures.

To ensure academic support for Goddard's students the college has secured a teach-out partnership for currently enrolled and admitted students to complete their degrees, at the same tuition rate, with like-minded institution, Prescott College. Prescott has a long history of experimental pedagogy and student-centered learning that is a great continuation of Goddard’s individualized approach. A Goddard College Scholarship Fund will be established to assist current students in transitioning to Prescott College and potentially other partner institutions to be announced in the coming months.

More updates on the teach-out and scholarship fund will be available in the coming weeks and information will be sent via email and posted to www.goddard.edu.

For more information on the closure view the press release here: https://www.goddard.edu/important-announcement/

Alum Kathya Alexander's debut speculative fiction novel, Keep A'Livin', will be released in the upcoming month by Aunt Lute Books, a radical feminist press publishing literature by those who have been traditionally underrepresented in or excluded by the literary canon. Kathya completed this novel while in Goddard's MFA Program, exploring the reality of activism as more than just a handful of speeches given at protests, the costs to those who dedicate themselves to activist work, and the passion that drives us ever onward to a better, more just future.
