The Plug Supply Illinois

Mark Bocker, a 3rd generation farmer, and his two sons Winton and Henry Bocker, both 4th generation farmers, reside in Polo, Illinois and together have approximately 70 years of farming experience. The Bocker’s operation has grown over the years and now consists of owning and operating a grain elevator and trucking business. They currently farm corn, soybeans and as of 2019, h**p!

2019 started out with a very wet spring, with the need to get seeds in the ground they used their expertise to modify their planter for the direct seeding of their h**p crop. They were able to successfully seed over 30 acres, 22 acres being their own. They grew three different strains that averaged 2,900 pounds per acre.

Mike and Adam Book started farming h**p in 2019, but their farming expertise didn’t start there. Mike began farming in his hometown of Leaf River, Illinois in 1979, making him a third-generation farmer. His son Adam, a fourth-generation farmer, started his farming career in 2002. Together they grow corn, soybeans, alfalfa hay and now, h**p.

Adam’s wife, Alyssa, has almost ten years of agriculture industry experience. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Platteville with a Bachelor of Science in Soil and Crop Sciences degree. She is excited to learn more about the h**p industry.
