Science Educational Enhancement Services - SEES

Science Educational Enhancement Services - SEES Success Through Collaboration Science Educational Enhancement Services (SEES) is a diversity program in the College of Science.

It was established in fall 1987 to increase the retention and the number of diverse students graduating from Cal Poly Pomona with degrees in the sciences. SEES supports students majoring in Biological Sciences, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Computer Science, Geological Sciences, Kinesiology & Health Promotion, Mathematics & Statistics, and Physics & Astronomy, as well as two departments in the College

of Agriculture: Food & Nutrition and Animal Health Science. SEES has approximately 500 participants in the College of Science. The general philosophy of SEES is to create a supportive community which helps its members learn how to navigate the university system and provides opportunities for academic support, career development, and on-campus engagement. SEES provides advising, mentoring, academic excellence workshops, study rooms and computer facilities for participants. SEES members are also engaged in the local community, as they judge at science fairs, run science workshops for kids, participate in chemistry ‘magic shows’ for local elementary and high school students, participate in Feeding the Poor programs during Thanksgiving, volunteer at local hospitals and schools, and a variety other activities.

Broncos Give Day is ending soon (March 18-19th). It's your LAST CHANCE to give back and make a lasting impact by donating to programs like Science Educational Enhancement Services (SEES).

SEES supports over 1,000 underrepresented students in the College of Science by providing meaningful resources that promote academic success and professional growth at Cal Poly Pomona and beyond into their careers. Through paid research fellowships, professional development workshops, graduate school application reimbursements and conference travel support, SEES helps students build strong foundations for their future careers. Your support is essential to sustaining SEES paid research fellowships, which allow selected students to participate in hands-on research while reducing financial barriers. These opportunities, combined with continued academic and professional support, empower students to persist, excel, and pursue advanced education.

Give today and help strengthen pathways to success for the next generation of scientists!
