The individuals in this picture are part of the SMAWS (South Mississippi Alliance for Workforce Solutions) Consortium of Community Colleges. Colleges in the consortium are Pearl River Community College, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Jones County Junior College, Southwest Community College, and Co-Lin Community College.
The group came together to discuss collaboration and coordination of training efforts to assist Ingalls Shipyard with their endeavor to hire several hundred structural/ship fitters, over the next year, or so.
