Lamar State College Port Arthur is offering RNSG 1300 – Health Assessment Across the Lifespan this summer, providing students with a unique opportunity to continue progressing toward their nursing and healthcare goals before the fall semester begins.

This course is not commonly offered during the summer term and is designed to help students develop important patient assessment and clinical observation skills that are essential in the nursing profession. REMINDER: LSCPA Summer BOGO Offer

Don’t miss your chance to save this summer at Lamar State College Port Arthur! Students who register for at least two summer classes may qualify to receive one course (three credit hours or less) FREE through the Summer BOGO program.

This offer applies to Summer 2026 classes beginning June 1, and it’s a great way to stay on track, get ahead, and save on tuition.

Important reminders: students will receive an email from VPSS with a form to accept the award, and funds will be applied on the census date of the summer term. Census dates are June 4 for Summer I, June 16 for Summer III, and July 10 for Summer II. The deadline to complete the form is July 10, 2026, and funding is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students can verify their award in MyLSCPA by checking “Pay Your Bill / Touchnet,” viewing account activity for Summer 2026, and looking for “BOGO.”

Building brighter futures starts with connection.

LSCPA was proud to participate in the PAISD Transition and Vocational Fair at Memorial High School, where students and families explored valuable resources designed to support life after graduation.

The event connected students in 504 and special education programs with colleges, workforce agencies, community organizations, and career services that can help open doors to education, training, and employment opportunities.

From workforce preparation and job coaching to college pathways and community support services, the fair highlighted the power of collaboration in helping students gain confidence, independence, and real-world opportunities.

We are grateful to stand alongside so many organizations committed to empowering students across Port Arthur and Southeast Texas. Together, we are helping students discover what’s possible for their future.

Scholarship opportunity alert!

The Entergy Power Your Future Scholarship, administered by Scholarship America, is now available for students pursuing careers in technology and Process Technology fields.

This scholarship supports students studying majors such as computer science, cybersecurity, cloud computing, information technology, engineering technology, AI, data science, communication networks, and more. Students pursuing a degree in Process Technology may also qualify through participating two-year and technical colleges, including Lamar State College Port Arthur.

To be eligible, students must:
✔️ Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
✔️ Be an undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior in an eligible technology major OR pursuing a Process Technology degree
✔️ Plan to enroll part-time or full-time during the upcoming academic year at an approved institution
