Our Southern Technical College Surgical Technology students had the incredible opportunity to visit the District 22 Medical Examiner's Office to further explore human anatomy and pathology. Experiences like this provide valuable insight that strengthens classroom learning and enhances the knowledge and critical thinking skills our future surgical technologists will bring into the operating room.

Today our Surgical Technology students had the opportunity to visit Surgical Specialists of Southwest Florida – Vascular Center for an incredible educational experience.

Students observed vascular surgical procedures, learned about the specialized field of vascular surgery, and had the chance to speak with experienced surgical technologists about their careers, techniques, and the importance of teamwork in the operating room.

Experiences like these help bridge the gap between the classroom and the OR while exposing our students to the many career opportunities within surgical technology.

A big thank you to the entire team at Surgical Specialists of Southwest Florida for welcoming our students and investing in the next generation of surgical professionals!
