I also am the music director and praise leader at Emmanuel Baptist Church here in Portales. I hope to continue growing my studio and eventually be able to put on studio recitals and grow a more musical community in my hometown. “

NATALIE BEGAYE, spring 2026 graduate
Degree: Bachelor of Music Education with Instrumental Emphasis, minor in piano
Current and future plans: “I plan to become a band director and work for 2-3 years at any school. I want to get some experience before applying for graduate school to get my master's degree in wind conducting. I hope to return to my hometown afterwards to build the band program that helped flourish my passion for music.”
Favorite ENMU Music Memory: “There are so many memories that I cherish. Most come from the ENMU trumpet studio and the ensembles that I've had the opportunity to participate in. One memory that sticks out to me is making the National Trumpet Competition live rounds and being able to rehearse with the ENMU NTC (National Trumpet Competition) group at a higher level in music.”
