Every year the ENMU TRIO Talent Search Program conduct summer science stem camps for TRIO students from Clovis, Portales and Tucumcari. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) camps are highly beneficial for junior high students, offering hands-on experiences that go beyond the traditional classroom to build essential skills, foster a lifelong love for learning, and provide early exposure to future career paths.

ENMU TRIO Talent Search students from Clovis/ Portales High School spent the weekend in Albuquerque, NM visiting Central New Mexico Community College and the University of New Mexico. TRIO Talent Search Students received the firsthand, authentic feel for the campus culture, environment, and daily life that simply cannot be gleaned from websites or brochures. In person college visits are consistently shown to be among the most important factors in a student's final college choice.

TRIO programs located in New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas are the participating states within SWASAP (Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs) TRIO programs provide wrap-around services provide students with a holistic support system designed to increase their retention, improve academic performance, and boost graduation rates. All 50 states have TRIO programs, with the federal government funding institutions in every state, plus the District of Columbia, the Caribbean, and the Pacific Islands.

Congratulations to Tucumcari High School’s FFA. They competed yesterday at the NM Wolverine Invitational in Texico.

Team 1- Bryson Klinger, MiKayla Klinger and Ashlynn Box placed 1st

Team 2 Lucia Benavidez, Brandt Foust, Jordan Rincones, and Joseph Page placed 6th.

Also MiKayla was 3rd HPI (High Point Individual) Ashlynn was 8th, and Bryson was 9th.
