It was amazing seeing our community come together to slow down, connect, and prioritize wellness. The energy in the space all week was something special✨

Join us TODAY from 12:00–1:30 PM for our Resource Fair at the VRC! We’re bringing campus and community partners together so you can connect with support that actually supports you.

Featuring SHAC, Returning Veterans Project, VetCenter, Multnomah County Veteran Services, K9 Kalvery, Vet Rest, the Portland VA Medical Center, and more!

The VRC is hiring for Fall 2025!
Looking for a job that will fit in easily with your Fall class schedule? How about a job with tax-free pay, flexible hours, and work in a fun, supportive environment?
The job would consist of answering phones/ emails, filing paperwork, assisting students with a variety of topics, keeping the Center looking presentable, and generally being a friendly face.
Our ideal candidate enjoys talking to and helping others; being detail-oriented and reliable is important to them. They’re a focused problem-solver, a quick learner, and a fish/plant enthusiast (hopefully)!
To qualify, you must be enrolled in classes 3/4th-time and utilizing a VA education benefit (Ch 31, Ch 30, Ch 33, Ch 35, Ch
1606) with at least a year left on said benefit.
The deadline for applications is August 29th, 2025 with a start date in the Fall term, and the link to apply is in our bio. To find out we’re hiring a little sooner, be sure to sign up for our newsletter. We can’t wait to work with you!

The VRC is proud to co-host a special screening of Inward, an insightful short film by Navy Veteran, award-winning filmmaker, and outdoors enthusiast Chad Brown. A driving force for veteran and environmental advocacy, Chad is the founder of the non-profits Soul River, Inc., which connects veterans and inner-city youths through a love for the natural world, and Love is King, which fights for equitable access and safety in nature for marginalized communities. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Outside Magazine, and on BBC and CBS.

Inward follows painter and explorer Michi Meko, who will be in attendance for this screening. His work seeks to capture the wild beauty of nature through the perspective of a “lone Black man reporting back from the new world.”

Join us beforehand at the VRC for a special reception from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in SMSU 018 (basement). Enjoy catered refreshments and take part in an intimate discussion of the film's insights and creativity with the director of the film, Chad Brown himself.

The screening will take place in Lincoln Hall, room 75. Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the showing beginning at 7:00 PM. Stay tuned after the movie for a Q&A with Chad Brown and Michi Meko. We hope to see you there!
