Concordia University Volleyball program (Portland, Oregon - Established 1962), a member of the NAIA and the Cascade Collegiate Conference, has a tradition of success and of developing not only quality athletes but quality people.
1) SMALL CAMPUS/STUDENT POPULATION - we have about 1750 enrolled here. It is a very nice area, located in a neighborhood-like setting, but only 10 minutes from the downt
own area of Portland. It is a very family-like atmosphere - very close bonds between teachers and students and all the great opportunities that such bonds open up. Students have many opportunities throughout their four years to get into internships and other "hands-on" training/education that many large schools are not able to offer. Check out this link for all of the changes going on at Concordia in the next 3 years: http://www.cu-portland.edu/giving/s...
2) OUTSTANDING ACADEMICS- our strongest programs are in science (pre-med/nursing/athletic training), business/marketing, and education so, regardless of your interest I think you’ll find a degree program to fit!
3) TOP FLIGHT VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM - We have made it to the post season ten of the past 12 years and have been in the top 10 in our region each of those years as well. A regional championship in 2000 resulted in a trip to the national tournament where we placed 9th overall. Concordia also has a very strong athletic tradition as a whole – all but two of our teams have been to nationals at some point in the past seven years and our women’s soccer team has been to the NAIA National Tournament each of those 7 years. As you can see, in addition to great academic programs, we are very committed to competing at the highest level in our athletics here at CU as well.
4) One of the most beautiful, lively cities in the country..... mountains and ocean both within an hour's drive. Check out this website on the city and all it has to offer: http://www.travelportland.com/visit...
