mber of the Financial Management Association---particularly if you are a Finance major or thinking about becoming one. This association plays a very important role in your preparation for a career in finance. It brings you into contact with people who actually work in various fields in finance, through the guest speakers program and other ways. It will help you get to know one another, and to share tips and secrets about school and about the outside world. It gives you the opportunity to work with motivated students in planning and executing all of these programs and to develop others. The role of the faculty and the curriculum is to prepare you academically for the various topics in business and finance so that you will have a good understanding of principles and will be successful in your employment.

About The FMA

The Financial Management Association International was established in 1970 to develop a continuing relationship between finance practitioners and academicians to facilitate the transfer of ideas and techniques and advances in the field of finance between universities, businesses and other institutions.

The ongoing purpose of the PSU FMA is to assist in the professional, educational, and social development of Portland State University students interested in financial management, banking, real estate and investment management; to provide an association for college students actively interested in these fields; and to encourage interaction between business executives, faculty, and students interested in finance, economics, and accounting.
