The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers 24 Bachelors' degrees in the Humanities, Sciences

and Social Sciences. Each provides insights and perspectives enabling students to study, evaluate, and understand themselves and the society in which we live. The College offers 20 Masters' degrees in the Liberal Arts and Sciences. A Doctoral degree in Biology, Mathematical Sciences, Mathematics Education, and Environmental Sciences and Resources, and joint Doctoral degrees with System Science in Anthropology, Economics, Mathematics, Psychology, and Sociology are offered. Making a splash. Alida Cantor, geography prof, won our CLAS Researcher of the Year Award (Social Sciences).

She is particularly interested in the intersections of water with communities, food, energy, and urbanization. She leads several grants from the and the focused on environmental justice, water and community impacts of renewable energy development around the U.S. West.

Finding a cure for malaria. Papireddy Kancharla, a chemistry research prof, won ’s Research Faculty Award. 👏👏👏

His current research focuses on discovery and development of new, safe and affordable medicines for the prevention and treatment of various human diseases from synthetic and natural sources.

New date, same great speakers!

Our Tag, We’re It event has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 23 — and we hope you’ll join us!

Inspired by ’s current exhibition Labor of Love, historian Patricia Schechter, geographer Pronoy Rai and scholar-activist Molly Benitez will take us on a journey of their work on labor: the seen, the unseen, and what it does to us. Q&A will follow.

We invite you to visit the exhibit before joining us for our talks. The museum is open on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Light snacks and sweet treats will be served.
