📢 May is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month! This month, we celebrate the rich cultures, traditions and contributions of AAPI communities — past, present and future.

Why May? This month was chosen to commemorate two significant milestones: the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants to the U.S. in May 1843, and the completion of the transcontinental railroad in May 1869 — a historic achievement made possible through the tireless work of Chinese immigrants.

At PCC, we honor the vibrant histories and many cultures represented within our AAPI students, faculty, staff and alumni. Their stories shape our campus and strengthen our community. Join us all month long as we celebrate AAPI voices, share inspiring stories, and uplift the achievements of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
