Rose City Print Arts Collective Student-based printmaking collective at Portland State University

Rose City Print Arts Mission Statement:

The Collective will work to:

Further the education of students interested in print arts, including majors and non-majors, by funding artist lectures and demonstrations

Bring visibility to PSU Printmakers, and to expand members’ art practice in the greater art community

Encourage artist collaboration and democratic participation in the planning and execut

ing of events, projects and outreach

Acquire funds through direct support from Portland State University, donations & sponsors, and by selling our own printed works at exhibitions, auctions and publications

Present students with resources and opportunities to participate in portfolio exchanges, individual & collaborative exhibitions, national conferences, etc. Function based on a democratic model in which all decisions are voted on as a group, and coordinators/officers are reevaluated regularly to ensure that they are representing the group’s mission

Create a prolific body of artwork while emphasizing the historical implications of the print arts: democracy, accessibility, education, and process
