Hello everyone,

We are very regretful to have to announce that Concordia University-Portland will be ceasing operations after the spring term. This includes the library. We have been so blessed to be here for our community for many years. Throughout the years that we have been open we have made new friends and encouraged not only a love of reading with our patrons, but a sense of community. Concordia Library may be leaving, but we know that the memories that we have shared with our amazing patrons will live on in our hearts.

If anyone has any questions about this, please refer to our FAQ page: As we learn more about the closure and the disposition of the contents of the library, we will be updating this information.

Here is a link to the FAQ page on the library closure:

Updates about the libraries' collections and operations will be provided at this FAQ as we have new information to share.

It's official! The library is excited to announce the much anticipated Undergraduate Research and Writing Studio is now open! The Studio has a whole new look and set up! Housed on the first floor of the library, the Undergraduate Research and Writing Studio is now a studio-based learning model, which means the appointment system will look a little different. The Undergraduate Research and Writing Studio will still offer some 45-minute sessions, but the new studio model will largely encourage students to walk in and work on their papers at their own pace while tutors offer assistance. The Studio will continue to offer online submissions for exclusively online students.
The Undergraduate Research and Writing Studio will be having a grand opening on Wednesday, January 22nd from 1-2pm. The ribbon cutting will be at 1:15pm.
Light refreshments will be served. Please join our student tutors, faculty, and staff to celebrate this new venture!

Did you know that November is Native American/American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month? If you have been following our Instagram posts, you would have seen that many of our book recommendations have highlighted this important month. But what is Native American/American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month? This month is a dedicated time to support the diverse and rich cultures, traditions, histories, and to acknowledge the many important and ongoing contributions of Native people. Heritage month is not just a time for celebration, but also for education. Native people have faced unique and historical challenges, and are still facing them today. This is an opportune time to educate yourself or others about these issues, to learn or share how Native people are working hard to overcome challenges and to recognize how you can and should help. If you are somebody who wants or needs to learn more, here is the link to the National Congress of American Indians, a good source to start your educational journey into the challenges Native people face today (http://www.ncai.org/initiatives/native-american-heritage-month). You could also check out our book recommendations on Instagram and other lists for awesome works by Native authors and scholars, or check out Native media sites (such as National Native News) to listen to and support Native voices. Celebrate the rich lives and continuous contributions of the Native people and engage in the truth of your world by educating yourself and others during this month and throughout the year.
