Big news for Portland State undergrad Finance program.

The New York Times has ranked PSU's Finance program #1 in pay among all Oregon universities. A huge congratulations to our students, faculty, and alumni, and a big thank-you to the Portland employers who hire our grads!

What sets the program apart: students manage a real-dollar stock fund, earn an AI in Business microcredential built into their coursework (no extra fees), and graduate with connections to local employers like Nike, Intel, U.S. Bank, Fisher Investments, and The Standard. There's even a 4+1 option to earn a Master of Science in Finance in just one more year.

Thank you to the high school counselors who joined us for brunch at the Karl Miller Center this morning! 💚

It was a great chance to connect, share what's happening at The School of Business at Portland State, and talk through our business pathways, campus resources, and opportunities for students to get involved. Counselors play a huge role in guiding students and families through the college decision, and we're so grateful for the work they do.

Big news for Portland State undergrad Finance program. 🎉

The New York Times has ranked PSU's Finance program #1 in pay among all Oregon universities. A huge congratulations to our students, faculty, and alumni, and a big thank-you to the Portland employers who hire our grads!

Thank you to everyone who made our Accounting Career Fair a success! 🎉

The PSU Viking Pavilion was buzzing as 150 accounting students connected with 28 employer partners from public accounting firms, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and financial services companies. It was our largest accounting recruiting event of the year, and it was great to see so many conversations and new connections happening throughout the evening.

We're grateful to our employer partners for investing their time in our students, and to our students for coming prepared and engaged.

Portland State senior Buddy Steele just wrapped up an eight-week paid internship at Lincoln Property Company, and from the sound of it he made the most of every week.

Buddy is finishing a BA in Architecture with a minor in Real Estate Property Management. Academic Director Michael Havlik helped connect him with Lincoln, where Buddy was handed the 2027 operating budget for PacWest Tower. He contacted close to 100 vendors for rate quotes, helped with accounting and day-to-day operations, followed project managers through tenant improvement work, and toured properties around the Portland area. On his last day the team took him to lunch, and a few of them got together for drinks afterward.

Thank you to everyone who joined the PSU School of Business and Portland Women in Investment Management (PWIM) on October 7 for “Practical Wellbeing for Financial Professionals.” Our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and members of Portland’s financial community came together to connect and explore practical ways to thrive, both personally and professionally.

A big thank you to Chase Sterling, M.A., Founder & Executive Director of Wellbeing Think Tank, for an engaging presentation and Q&A, and to Dean Qing Hu for welcoming everyone and for his ongoing support in hosting and sponsoring this gathering.
