Dear Wayfinding Community Supporters and Followers,
A deep thank you to all of you who traveled the Wayfinding Academy path or followed along in some form.
After months of deliberation in many team meetings, we’ve made the decision to dissolve Wayfinding Academy as a nonprofit college.
We were not able to fully regain the momentum, vitality and enrollment that we were building pre-pandemic (we know we’re not alone in that). While this deliberation period sparked a lot of creativity, ideas and enthusiasm, there was very little for continuing to operate inside the higher education system as an accredited college.
Of course, we’re all feeling a lot of feels, but what keeps rising to the top is gratitude for the people, the experience, and all the moments of delight and growth along the way.
Although this is the end of one unique organizational story of learning and growth, Wayfinding leaders hope that others can glean inspiration and learn from it for many years to come. That’s why they're writing it all down! The Wayfinding Story and core ideas will live on at wayfindingacademy.org.
While the story of this version of the organization has come to an end, organizations are made of people, and many of the people behind this story are far from being done working on their long-term visions. Who knows what will happen from here? The future is uncertain. We believe that’s a good thing.
