"Mary E. (King) Dyson 33, of Watertown, NY, died suddenly in a tragic car accident on Saturday, October 6, 2018 with her husband Robert Dyson, her three sisters Abigail Jackson, Allison King, and Amy Steenburg as well as her brothers-in-law Adam Jackson and Axel Steenburg, and several other friends."
We would like to honor Mary by sharing a few memories from sisters that had the pleasure of knowing her:
"The funniest collegiate memories I have with Mary were dorm laser tag, lady date nights to Empire, fluids class with 'Norby', borrowing composites, the time she went streaking on campus, partying with her pet snake Lola, the semester I was her assistant 'new member' mom, our senior night and pretty much every Greek life function we ever attended. She was one of the main reasons I joined Theta Phi and I'll never be able to thank her enough for bringing me to this amazing group of women, my sisters."
"Mary was without a doubt one of the best people I have ever known. She was also, by far, the craziest. We had very compatible personalities and for that, we got into a bunch of trouble. We spent the majority of our time laughing at or embarrassing each other. There wasn't a time where she couldn't make me smile. With this girl, I felt truly loved and accepted.
Mary was such a bright light in this world. She was involved in absolutely everything, befriended everyone, and lived life with no regrets. She was courageous and kind, funny as hell and the BEST kind of person. She loved her family, her husband and her son so fiercely. I consider her a true inspiration."
"Mary was a fierce woman, and a downright goofball. Words can not describe how amazing she was as a sister, as a mother to her little boy Isaac, and as a person in general. She was taken way too soon. We love you so much, Mary."
Rest easy, Mary and Robert. We're sending our love and prayers to your son.
Your Theta Phi family loves you, and we will never forget all that you've done for us.
