Vassar College Writing Center

Vassar College Writing Center Writers talking to writers, Sundays-Thursdays 3:00-11:00pm The Vassar College Writing Center promotes a campus-wide culture of writing.

We work to support, spotlight, and bring together Vassar’s community of faculty and student writers. Through peer-to-peer writing consultations at all stages of the writing process, teaching support activities for faculty, and campus-wide programs, we occasion immediate, engaged conversations among Vassar’s writers. We aim to develop an awareness of the writing process, and to facilitate a critica

l examination of how writing enables our participation in the academy and the larger community. The Writing Center forges connections among all writers regardless of their class year or discipline. Our peer writing consultants, who come to us from disciplines across Vassar’s curriculum, are committed to helping their fellow students develop empowering strategies for communication in its complexities – an essential component of a Vassar education.
