Hosted by the Overseas Ministries Study Center at Princeton Theological Seminary, we celebrated the beautiful work of our Artist in Residence Carmelle Beaugelin Caldwell MDiv '18.

Titled, "Voyage," the exhibition featured an intimate and curated set of paintings, drawing on family archives and the immigration documents of Beaugelin's late mother, Anitha. A true reflection of her family's migration, "Voyage" honors what we carry when we move.

The evening closed with a special gift to the seminary as Carmelle presented one of her works to President Jonathan Lee Walton.

We are grateful for visionaries and artists like Carmelle who continue to share the gift of vulnerability through art with our community.

As the United States approaches its 250th birthday, a sense of unease about the future of American democracy is deepening on all sides of the lines that divide. Some argue that a return to the nation’s Christian roots is the only way to cure what ails us. Others see “Christian nationalism” as part and parcel of the disease.

Join Princeton Theological Seminary for an immersive four-day residential seminar exploring the intertwined histories of Christian faith and American public life. Learn alongside Associate Professor of American Christianity Dr. Heath W. Carter, Annette Gordon-Reed, Jonathan Rauch, and other distinguished scholars as you engage timely questions at the intersection of faith, democracy, and history.

Hosted in historic Princeton, this four-day experience invites participants into thoughtful conversation, rigorous learning, and meaningful reflection.

"Princeton helped me to be able to see the problem and the deeper wound. To know when to speak and when to sit... this formation didn't come simply from books, but it came from community." - Rev. Pamela Holmes-Saxton MDiv ’14

At Reunion, 2026 Alumni Service Award recipient Pamela reflected on the kind of formation that stays with you long after graduation; one shaped not only in classrooms, but in conversation and community.

Seminary President Jonathan Lee Walton congratulated graduates before welcoming Pulitzer Prize-winning author Marilynne Robinson as this year’s Commencement speaker.
