Background: This research study focuses on a fairly new digital phenomenon known as mukbang. Also known as "social eating" or "meokbang," mukbang are videos in which a person eats food (often in large quantities) for the entertainment of viewers.
About Us: We are a research team at Brown University that is interested in studying the effects of mukbang viewing. Team members include research mentor Dr. Tayla von Ash and undergraduates Rachel Huynh (class of 2023) and Carrie Deng (class of 2022).
