Woohoo!!!

U.S. News & World Report ranked Providence College #1 among regional universities in the north for the fifth consecutive year. The college shared the top spot with Rhode Island School of Design and Bentley University. PC has been ranked among the top five colleges in the northeast by U.S. News & World Report for more than 25 years.

Among the northeast schools, the college also rose to #7 on the most innovative schools list and #115 for social mobility. It appeared at #21 on the list for Best Value Schools and #5 for best undergraduate teaching program.

In addition, Providence was ranked for the first time for two academic programs: the undergraduate economics program was #165 in the nation and the Providence College Department of Psychology was #203. The undergraduate business program at the Providence College School of Business was ranked #159.

Dr. Joanna Morris is an Associate Professor who grew up in Trinidad & Tobago. She received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Rebecca Babcock Fenerci is joining us this year as an Assistant Professor of Psychology. She grew up in Massachusetts and received her Ph.D. in Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Denver. Her research explores the factors that increase the risk for or protect against the intergenerational transmission of maltreatment from survivor parents to their children. She will be teaching Personality and Child & Adolescent Development this fall semester. One fun fact is that her in-laws live in Istanbul, Turkey!

Dr. Emily Gentes is joining us this year as an Assistant Professor. She grew up in Massachusetts and received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
