So in the past two weeks Rhode Island Society of CPAs and provided a soft skills training program. It was a powerful and impact-filled Training Program.

We were taught things like Executive Presence, how to network better, how to present a presentation, what to wear, how to make better use of your body language, how to use social media better, how to better sell yourself (Branding and building rapport), What are strengths and talents were, 30 second elevator pitch, and more!!!

We thank Rhode Island Society of CPAs, Melissa Travis, Maggie Lague, Melanie Lanni, Kerry Angilly, and for making this two week training program happen!

I want to also thank my classmates for being awesome and so supportive of each other: Domingo Carmona (Member of Acct. Asso.), Shania Renaud (Secretary of Acct. Asso.), Vengkheang Kong, Jillyan Frederick (Treasurer of Acct. Asso.), Brittany Radcliffe, Amritha Kiran, William Cousineau, Sinaa Noori, James Kozusko (Member of Acct. Asso.).

Every student stated above are amazing and have such wonderful talents! I only wish that I could have been with them a little longer! Although I will see my members soon.... lol

Hello Everyone,

Remember when I said at the beginning of the Semester that the Acct. Asso. would become the Student charter of IMA at RIC: We did!

Remember when I said I would get more members? : We went from 4 people to 15 strong!

Remember when I said that our Budget was capped: Soon it will not be capped for Fall 2020 to Spring 2021!

Don't remember that? That's because I probably didn't tell you!

I am proud of the way this semester ended out. We took a whole semester and taught about Financial Literacy, helped out many people in the long run!

This year will be no different. I will always teach what isn't being taught. This year I will make it my mission to teach about Data Analytics. This is the next big thing that Companies are begging people for and yet no teacher has taught about it yet. I will take the reins, learn about it, and teach it!

I would love to see all of you there! Classes are free to come to! Soon I will be asking all of you for a big favor!

Hello all!

I just wanted to say that the Accounting Association will be having it's next meeting on September 25th! Between the times of 12:30pm to 1:30pm in Alger 103.

This one is going to be Accounting Basic's day. I am going to try and get some people new to accounting, or just want a refresher on what goes up and down in the General Ledger. Super easy stuff, but very essential for a beginner to learn and for an accountant to know ^_^

As per my face,

The first meeting went well! We got 5 new members at the meeting today. 3-4 that couldn't come today but will in the future. This isn't even including my officers and I.

This year I know we can become a student charter of IMA. With the help of my officers and members, I think that with everything we will provide, it will create a huge incentive in joining the Accounting Association.

My dream of 20 or more members will come soon!

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to make sure that I clear up the date for the First Acct. Asso. meeting. We are no longer meeting Sept. 4th because I have I have to go to a President/Treasurer meeting that same day and time.

So I have moved the meeting to September 11th, @ donovan Dining 202, From 12:30pm - 1;30pm.

I hope everyone had a good labor day weekend! Don't forget to have a budget! and have a great day!

Good morning everyone,

With college starting this coming Monday, I just wanted to say I hope you will have good health and amazing grades!

Be sure to stay focused, have a budget (Important), and take a load off every once in a while.

The Accounting Association will have their first meeting on September 4th! Time is 12:30pm to 1:30pm, Room is pending (I will let you know later).

Be sure that you are networking in every classroom! You never know where your friendships or connections can take you!

My friend is opening an CPA firm in Providence. He will be having a Networking Event on Skyline at Waterplace on Thursday Sept. 21, 5-8pm. You are all welcome. Food and open bar.
