April 24 is Arbor Day
What is Arbor Day?
Arbor Day is a holiday dedicated to planting and caring for trees. It was first celebrated in 1872 in Nebraska, thanks to J. Sterling Morton, who encouraged communities to plant trees to improve the environment and landscape. On that first Arbor Day, an estimated one million trees were planted. Today, Arbor Day is observed across the United States and around the world as a way to promote environmental responsibility, conservation, and appreciation for nature.
