HI KASA!!!! We have some big, big news. KASA is very proud to announce and welcome our 2022-2023 elected executives — President Bryan Kwon ’23 and Vice Presidents Chelyn Park ’24 and Jenny Song ’23!! WOOHOO! Y’all are in gooood hands.
We CANNOT believe it’s already the last week of classes (time flies when you’re having fun), but do you know what’s even CRAZIER? KASA is already preparing to make next semester EVEN BETTER 😤💪 The first step to that is recruiting the rest of our 2022-2023 E-Board family! 👨👩👧👦 Below are the positions we are looking to fill:
→ TREASURER
The treasurer assists the President and VP with finances of the organization. They are in charge of dealing with UFB and requesting additional funding throughout the year. This position is for someone who considers themselves to be proficient in Excel and Powerpoint, is organized and good with numbers.
→ MARKETING CHAIR
The marketing chair is in charge of social media for the organization. They will be in charge of creating posts and keeping the GB engaged on Instagram, Facebook and any other platforms. This position is for someone who has small scale “influencer” vibes and has a consistently high “Weekly Screen Time Report” score.
→ COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR
The communications chair facilitates communication and updates to all KASA members via email (i.e., Morning Mail, KASA website). Responsible for managing the KASA email account, which includes sending out event notifications to general body members. This position is for someone who is fluent in Korean (preferred) and considers themselves to be a creative writer.
→ DESIGN CHAIR
The design chair creates cover photos and advertisements, such as posters and tableslips, for KASA events. They are responsible for documenting and recording events through photography and videography. They are also in charge of designing KASA gear. This position is for someone who is proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
→ CULTURE CHAIR
The culture chair is responsible for staying up to date with Korean recent events, informing GB on Korean culture and history; working closely with Brown’s East Asian Studies Department; and, reaching out to informed speakers of Korean culture and/or history.
→ SOCIAL CHAIR
The social chair is in charge of contacting outside venues for off-campus events and coordinating party preparations for on-campus events. They also create new social events in which KASA can be involved.
→ SECRETARY
The secretary is in charge of notes during every E-Board meeting; coordinates and requests university spaces and media services for KASA-related events on campus. They archive and organize past KASA notes in preparation for future E-Boards. The secretary is also responsible for the KASA inventory.
→ EXTERNAL LIASION
The external liaison is responsible for introducing and maintaining KASA’s relationships with alumni and groups beyond the Brown community. Researches and contacts guest speakers and performers for potential events. Maintains communications with other student groups and updates the E-Board of other events and activities within the Brown community. Attends meetings of other student groups when appropriate.
