Brown Opera Productions

Brown Opera Productions Because everyone needs a little drama in their lives ... also provide important opportunities to strengthen the opera-loving community.

Brown Opera Productions is a non-profit, student-run organization at Brown University committed to creating lively spaces for opera performance and appreciation, in order to foster a passion for the art form among both student performers and student audiences. This aim stems from a belief that classical vocal performance, much like any other performance art, has the capacity to touch the lives of

those whom it is able to reach. The production of inclusive, fresh, and high caliber performances is therefore paramount to BOP season programming, but other events (opera screenings, open master classes, get-togethers etc.) In the spirit of Brown University, we also feel it our responsibility to bring opera appreciation and education to the greater Providence community. While all events are open to this larger community, at least one event each year shall be dedicated solely to community outreach and education.

Hello! BOP is currently looking for pianists to record individual songs for our live-streamed production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Carousel.” This is a low-commitment way to be involved in the show! The score is pretty straightforward and and you could play just one song or multiple. The process is pre-recorded, so there are no extensive rehearsals. There are some solo piano opportunities, such as the overture and the ballet. Please email [email protected] with any questions!

Best,
The BOP Board
