Congratulations ✨Stephanie Lenihan✨for winning a MaxBook NEO laptop!
According to Stephanie, the MacBook Neo would support her role as district STEM coordinator for Westerly Public Schools by providing a lightweight, portable, and efficient device that aligns with the fast-paced demands of district leadership, professional learning, facilitation, classroom visits, data, analysis, and curriculum planning across K-12 schools. Its long battery life, seamless integration with Google workspace and instructional platforms, and built in AI productivity tools will allow me to efficiently manage presentations, collaboration, communication, and instructional support while moving between schools and meetings throughout the day.

Congratulations to Graciela on winning a MacBook NEO laptop! 💻 ⭐️ Here’s how the laptop will be beneficial to her as a student.
“I am very grateful for this opportunity. The MacBook will be extremely beneficial to me as an Elementary Education student because it will help me complete coursework, lesson plans, assignments, and clinical work much more efficiently. Having a reliable computer will make a huge difference in balancing the responsibilities that come with my classes and field placements.
It will also help me stay organized, access the programs and resources I use regularly, and complete projects more efficiently both on campus and during clinical experiences. As I continue preparing for my future career in education, this support will have a meaningful impact on both my academic journey and professional growth.
Thank you again for your generosity and support!”

FSEHD is proud to celebrate a graduating senior, Courtney Matson, from Rhode Island College’s Early Childhood Education program who spoke at the State House during the recent Strolling Thunder event on May 7!
She shared the importance of the TEACH Scholarship, accessible pathways into the early childhood workforce, the importance of early literacy, and the critical need for fair compensation for educators. Her voice highlighted the impact of investing in the professionals who support young children and families every day.
Congratulations on this incredible achievement and for being such a strong advocate for the early childhood workforce! 🌟🍎

On April 30, our RIC students in the Health and Physical Education Department created a fun-filled morning for our Mount Pleasant High School friends. The focus of today was to highlight the magic of unified physical education through HPE 409 methods in adapted physical education course. All the student students today, both RIC and Mount Pleasant alike left with smiles, new friendships, and meaningful shared experience. This is what makes Unified Physical Education so powerful: bringing people together through movement, inclusion, and joy. What an amazing morning!

Do you spy the FSEHD Office of Partnerships and Placements dynamic duo supporting the Unity Center on Tuesday to commemorate National Day of awareness for missing and murdered, Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People. The Unity Center is grateful to have been in community together to learn about this crisis and make beaded red dress pins to raise awareness. Special thank you to graduate assistant Sophia Wright for educating attendees about this epidemic of violence against indigenous communities.
