Seven aspiring educators are on their way 🎓
We’re proud to welcome seven paraprofessionals from the Central Falls and East Providence School Districts into the Registered Teaching Apprenticeship Program (RTAP) as they begin their journey to becoming certified teachers in Rhode Island. The cohort will begin taking classes at RIC in fall 2026, with programs of study in early childhood special education, elementary special education, secondary special education, and secondary math.
Funded by the USDOL Apprenticeship Building America Grant in partnership with Building Futures, the Institute for Labor Studies and Research, AFT, NEA, and AFSCME.

Congratulations ✨Stephanie Lenihan✨for winning a MaxBook NEO laptop!
According to Stephanie, the MacBook Neo would support her role as district STEM coordinator for Westerly Public Schools by providing a lightweight, portable, and efficient device that aligns with the fast-paced demands of district leadership, professional learning, facilitation, classroom visits, data, analysis, and curriculum planning across K-12 schools. Its long battery life, seamless integration with Google workspace and instructional platforms, and built in AI productivity tools will allow me to efficiently manage presentations, collaboration, communication, and instructional support while moving between schools and meetings throughout the day.

Congratulations to Graciela on winning a MacBook NEO laptop! 💻 ⭐️ Here’s how the laptop will be beneficial to her as a student.
“I am very grateful for this opportunity. The MacBook will be extremely beneficial to me as an Elementary Education student because it will help me complete coursework, lesson plans, assignments, and clinical work much more efficiently. Having a reliable computer will make a huge difference in balancing the responsibilities that come with my classes and field placements.
It will also help me stay organized, access the programs and resources I use regularly, and complete projects more efficiently both on campus and during clinical experiences. As I continue preparing for my future career in education, this support will have a meaningful impact on both my academic journey and professional growth.
Thank you again for your generosity and support!”
