In lieu of our normal Brown MUN general body meeting, we will be holding an open forum on the Brown Divest referendum during the same time and at the same place (tomorrow 9 PM, MacMillan 115). We will be inviting members of student organizations and coalitions active on the Brown Divest issue to present different perspectives and positions on the referendum for the first half of the hour. The second half will be devoted to a general body discussion on people's views and questions about the referendum.

We decided to host this forum and give this opportunity for Brown MUN community members to participate and learn through dialogue because we believe that one of Brown MUN's roles in the Brown community is to provide spaces for dialogue and discussion about relevant global issues. We hope that this forum will help those who have questions about the referendum positions and also provide an opportunity for those undecided to hear different arguments for the Yes and No positions.

Hey all,

Our next meeting for the semester will be this Monday at our usual time and place, 9PM in MacMillan 115. Since the year is drawing to a close, the primary purpose of this meeting will be to gather feedback from members about how the year is run and what changes need to be made going forward. As such, however, we will also play a few games and have our usual snacks. All are welcome to attend and we hope to see everyone there!

Good morning, Providence! We hope you'll consider traipsing through the snow tonight at 9PM to come to our last general body meeting before spring break in MacMillan 115. Tonight, we'll be discussing maritime law, law of the sea, and conflicts over jurisdiction including the Northwest Passage and the South China Sea. As always, we'll have snacks (and they'll be worth the walk). See you all there!!

Come on down tonight at 9PM to MacMillan 115 for a special edition general body meeting for Brown Model UN! Geoffrey Kocks and Julia Gross will be co-leading a discussion on the supply and demand factors that contribute to global water scarcity. Using India as a case study, they discuss possible intervention strategies as well as research that they have done on the long term prospects for these strategies. The discussion will also cover recent approaches that the UN has taken to combat water scarcity, and the meeting will conclude with a directive writing activity from the perspective of various countries facing water challenges. As always, snacks will be served! See you all there.

Hey everyone,

Congrats to all those who helped out at BUCS this weekend. The conference was a major success and it couldn't have been possible without the hard work and dedication of every staffer, chair, crisis director, and secretariat member. Thank you all!

Our meeting tonight will be a bit more informal than usual, owing to the amount of time everyone put in for BUCS this weekend. We will be playing a special edition of Brown Model UN Jeopardy! Cool prizes will be awarded to winners and, as always, there will be snacks for all, no matter their Jeopardy! score. Hope to see you all there!
