Apply to the Econ DUG Executive Board today! The Econ DUG is the single DUG that serves concentrators in Economics (Standard, Public Policy, and Business tracks), Applied Mathematics-Economics, Computer Science-Economics, and Mathematics-Economics. We put on fifteen or more events each year including academic lectures, social events, resume workshops, course selection advising hours, as well as preparation for internships and graduate school. Co-chairs plan and lead their own events, and support the overall functioning of the DUG.

Since our last newsletter of the year went out last week, check out this summer internship opportunity here:
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy is looking for paid summer interns! The mission of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) is to maximize the benefits of science and technology to advance health, prosperity, security, environmental quality, and justice for all Americans. The application period is open from April 29, 2022 through May 15, 2022 at 11:59 PM ET. The Summer 2022 term begins on June 20, 2022 and ends on August 12, 2022. Interns will receive a stipend of $6,000 for participation in the program. All internships are located in Washington, D.C. and are full-time; participants must be able to commit to a minimum of 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday).
Congress established OSTP in 1976. OSTP advises the President and others within the Executive Office of the President on the scientific, engineering, and technological aspects of the economy, national security, health, and the environment. OSTP leads efforts across the Federal government to develop and implement sound science and technology policies and budgets, and works with the private and philanthropic sectors, state, local, Tribal, and territorial governments, the research and academic communities, and other nations toward this end.

The Econ DUG is currently looking to redesign our logo, and we're looking for talented individuals (like you!) to help out!

To take part in our logo competition, please submit your logo design by Friday, April 8 at 11:59 pm ET. For your submission to be eligible, please submit as an SVG or Illustrator format (i.e. not PNG or JPEG). For inspiration, check out our website: http://students.brown.edu/econdug/index.html.

We will announce results by the end of April. The winner will receive a $50 gift card to the bookstore (!!), and honorable mentions will receive a special feature in our weekly newsletter! We thank you for your time and efforts!

Are you a student of color studying Economics? Are you seeking to connect with more people of similar backgrounds or interests? Sign up for the Economics Students of Color Group today! The Economic Students of Color Group at Brown is a group created by the Econ DUG in order to foster connections between students of color within the Economics concentration. Within this group, students will meet bi-monthly to discuss navigating the Economics concentration as students of color, gaining insight from professors of color on a variety of topics related to economics, and creating a network of students with whom they share a similar background. To all sophomores: in preparation for needing to declare a concentration in your fourth semester, the College is hosting a Concentration Fair TODAY from 7-8:30 p.m. under the tent on Simmons Quad.
