☘️How can you hear Irish music and not dance?!☘️

A few weeks ago we were privileged to be featured in video made by BYU film students Madeline Xu, Najee Dillard and Hyobin Kim with music by BYU Celtic Ensemble. We loved working with them and are so greatful for the opportunity to collaborate.

Come watch us dance at the 3rd Annual BYUrovision Song Contest February 26th 6:30-8:00pm at the Varsity Theater in the WILK on campus!

We’ll be dancing some pieces we’ve never performed before. Our hardshoe number is from the world-famous show Riverdance, which debuted at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, IRE and took the world by storm ☘️.

It is open to the public — tickets are $5.
We would love to have your support in the audience. It’ll be a wonderful show all around. The talent at BYU is incredible.

We had the best day with on Tuesday!

Assistant Artistic Director/company artist and company artist for teaching the coolest masterclass about rhythm in percussive styles, technique, and not being afraid to push the boundaries of Irish dance.
In the evening the touring company performed Jig. It was absolutely fantastic. We were blown away by the immense talent and artistry of each company artist and musician.

Another thank you to and for making all of this possible.

🇺🇸 Merry Christmas!

Last night we were honored to have been featured at the BYU Law School’s faculty Christmas party for our last performance of the year!🎄It was a lovely show from countries across the world. Representing Ireland, of course, we were grateful to have had one last chance to dance to the classic “Christmas in Killarney” by the Irish Rovers! (featured in the video)

BYU Irish Dance Club x BYU Celtic Ensemble strikes again!

Our Fall 2024 Barn Dance a few weeks ago was a hit. Thank you to everyone who came. We had so much fun dancing and making new friends! If you missed it, don't be too sad. There will be another opportunity in March 2025. Make sure you're checking our socials for when we announce the date and time!

🍁BARN DANCE ANNOUNCEMENT🍁

This Thursday BYU Irish Dance Club will be teaching dances at a ‘barn dance’ in tandem with the BYU Celtic Ensemble!

No dance experience is necessary. Come enjoy live music and learn some fun, easy dances! Members of BYU Irish Dance Club will also be performing a few numbers.

These barn dances may not be in an actual barn but they are always a good time, bring your friends and family. The more the merrier!

Get to know Hope Mason!
BYU Irish Dance Club Treasurer 2024-2025

This year Hope (._.mason) is our treasurer. She has been Irish dancing since she was a little girl at Main Street Dance Studio in Idaho, the starting competing with the Haran School of Irish Dance in Washington, and later the Scariff School of Irish Dance in Utah. This is the start of her second year in IDC! She loves to try different dance styles, but Irish dance will always be her first love!

Get to know Alayna Beck!
BYU Irish Dance Club Secretary 2024-2025

We love having Alayna () in our club presidency as secretary. She discovered Irish dance just a few years ago through the Beginning Irish Dance class offered here at BYU (it’s DANCE 174 through , if you’re interested😁). Shortly after she joined IDC and this semester is the start of her third year with us!

Get to know Betsy Richardson!
BYU Irish Dance Club Vice President 2024-2025

Betsy () is our wonderful vice president. She danced previously with the Shelley School of Irish Dance () right here in Utah and has been with IDC for two years serving for a time as graphic designer. She created our logo!
