Center for Honors and Leadership at Colorado State University Pueblo

10/08/2026

Last week while attending the debates with League of Women Voters and the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce , I was able to speak with the President's Leadership Program (PLP). These students took the time to attend, be engaged and stay informed about the local candidates and issues on the ballot this fall.

These are sophomores attending Colorado State University Pueblo and their class is titled "Leadership in Service Organizations." It's great to see these young people involved in the Pueblo community.

So proud of these two PLP Alums, Steven Trujillo and Shanna Farmer, who have played major roles in helping people impacted by the fires in Pueblo County. They brought two organizations, that they currently lead (the Pueblo Housing Authority and United Way of Southern Colorado), together to make a strong partnership, which is what leadership is all about. Thank you to all our PLP Alums who are out there every day making a difference. We commend you for your service!
