Hello Anthropology Students!

Are you interested in learning to make stone tools or other experimental crafts?
We will be meeting in the Lithics Lab located in the basement of College Hall, Room 43 for open lab hours where you can practice your knapping skills. If you don’t have an interest in knapping but would like a space to practice your own crafts or experimental projects (weaving, ground stone, etc.) you are encouraged to bring your own crafts and ideas and come hang out!
No experience or equipment is necessary, but you will need to follow the lab safety protocols and sign an agreement outlining the rules and regulations. The lab has all the materials and safety equipment necessary, but feel free to bring your own materials, tools, gloves, or safety glasses if you prefer. Long pants and close-toed shoes are recommended during knapping/open craft hours.
Our next Open Lab hours for the Fall term will be held on Thursdays from 4:30-6:00 pm on November 5, and December 3. I will send reminder emails before each session, but put these dates on your calendars!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at any time ([email protected]).
Hope to see you there!
