Today, with all Alpha Brothers around the world, the Boston Alphas honor the tenacity and vision of our beloved, Seven Jewels, and their founding of our illustrious Fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In their grand design, they recognized the need for an organization not only to promote brotherhood and the higher ideals of manhood, but the duty we have to our community and to our fellow man.
Since our inception, we have set ourselves apart from those who would follow by embracing the moniker, Men of Distinction. This is not a label we should ever take for granted or brandish lightly.
As The First, it declares that we are not only different, but we are the highest standard. While we do not say this to be boastful or conceded, it is our charge. Therefore, we have no reason to compete or debate because we serve, we lead, and we transcend.
It’s that simple. We are Alphas.
Let us be mindful our “burden” and vigilant to uphold the tenets and charge outlined in The Ritual, as well as remain aligned and committed to our mission to “develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.”
Today, we celebrate and marvel at the House of Alpha the Jewels built!
