Our Story
RUBY (Radford University Ballet Youth) is a program designed to introduce school age children to creative movement, ballet, jazz and tap. Dance majors from Radford University, as well as RU dance faculty, teach creative and inspired classes for students ages 3 through adult. Because the RUBY program is associated with Radford University Ballet Theatre, students have the unique opportunity to perform alongside university dance majors in annual productions of the Nutcracker and Evening of Ballet.
RUBY ISIP (International Summer Intensive Program) is a two week summer intensive held on Radford's beautiful campus. Students are taught by internationally known faculty, such as Aleksey Plekhanov, Bob Boross, Margaret Devaney, and Director of the Program Inessa Plekhanova. This program allows young dancers from the United States and Japan the opportunity to work together, learn from each other, and develop friendships that last a lifetime. ISIP offers rigorous training and the experience of a lifetime.
