Changes are coming to the NACC campus this summer!

Under a plan approved by the ACCS Board of Trustees, two of the older buildings on campus will be demolished, the third floor of a newer building will be renovated to house the English Department, and the Learning Resources Center will be slightly altered to make room for the Psychology Department.

🎓 Cassie Burns: AS, Biology
Geraldine High School

Cassie chose the Dual Enrollment program to earn college and high school credit while preparing for her future in medicine. Through rigorous coursework, including chemistry with Dr. Byrum, she gained valuable experience with college-level expectations and completed her associate degree before graduating high school. Cassie plans to attend The University of Alabama and pursue a path toward cosmetic dermatology, supported by multiple scholarships from both NACC and Alabama.

🎓 Ava Armstrong: AS, Business
Geraldine High School

Ava chose NACC’s Dual Enrollment program to get ahead in college while saving time and money. Through the experience, she gained confidence, strengthened her time-management skills, and learned what to expect from college-level coursework. Inspired by supportive instructors like Dr. McBride and Mrs. Bergman, Ava plans to continue her education and pursue a bachelor’s degree in business, building on the strong foundation she developed at NACC.

📊 Data centers are used in powering the technologies like online banking, hospitals + 911 systems

About the $1.5B investment:
👉Thousands of new jobs will follow, stimulating both the local + state economy
👉Google will cover 100% of the power used at the site + the infrastructure costs
👉Companywide pledge was made to responsibly manage water in + near its data centers
👉Will enact a $2M Energy Impact Fund to support programs that help lower utility bills for county residents
👉$500k was donated to fund STEM programs for 4-8th graders in the Jackson County School District

🎓 Hadley West: AS, Transfer Nursing
Fyffe High School

Hadley chose the Dual Enrollment program to get a head start on college and prepare for a future in healthcare. Through college-level coursework, she developed strong study habits, responsibility, and time-management skills while balancing academics and athletics in high school. Inspired by supportive instructors like Misty Chapman, Hadley plans to enter NACC’s nursing program and continue her education toward becoming a dermatology nurse practitioner. She also earned an academic scholarship from Northeast.
