Mission: The Mission of Theta Rho Nu Fraternity is to engender environments of collective promotion, network elevation, and philanthropic service.

Founded March 21, 2021

Incorporated March 6, 2023

Purpose: The purpose of Theta Rho Nu is to provide synergetic connection between men exceling in scholastic and career advancement who are of similar life experience. Theta Rho Nu was formed from a desire to elevate the community of professional and academic same-gender loving minority men, and create pathways of change for members individually,

the organization collectively, and the community as a whole. Theta Rho Nu was sparked from a need to fill a void and bridge a gap between the potential of thought and the kinetic actions of service, celebration, and camaraderie. Theta Rho Nu will become a nexus of positive representation and efficacious advocacy aimed at effecting lasting and progressive change for all members and their communities. Theta Rho Nu will strive to be a force multiplier in members’ academic and career advancements and goals. Through facilitation of workshops and conferences, mentoring, successive approximation, and leadership development Theta Rho Nu will increase the self-efficacy of its members to achieve heightened goals in the academic, professional, and political arenas while promoting positive visibility and efforts socially and culturally. Theta Rho Nu recognizes the ideal of intersectionality and welcomes each member as a complete Man unto himself and celebrates the entirety of his existence and experiences. While recognizing that the collective myriad experiences are catalyst to one another and create profound change for the individual and organization. Values: Theta Rho Nu is devoted to the collective elevation of professional same-gender loving minority men and the increased representation of such throughout all platforms based upon the precepts of synergist collaboration, self-recognition in service of others, and examples of excellence in action. Theta Rho Nu believes that the first step to achieving goals and greatness is recognizing the ability to attain it by seeing someone of similar experience achieve it too. In a world that too often asks people like us to shrink, soften, or silence parts of ourselves, Theta Rho Nu Fraternity stands firmly in the belief that authenticity is sacred. Pride Month is more than celebration. It is remembrance, resilience, visibility, and the unapologetic declaration that who we are has value, power, and purpose.

“Pride in Identity” is not simply part of our motto. It is a commitment to living fully in our truth while honoring every experience, struggle, triumph, and layer that shaped us into the men we are today. We believe there is strength in being seen, courage in being genuine, and greatness in refusing to compromise the totality of ourselves for the comfort of others.

This month we celebrate our brothers, our community, and every same-gender-loving man of color who has dared to exist boldly in spaces that were not always built for him. Your story matters. Your presence matters. Your identity deserves celebration.

We celebrate our Founder and President, Dr. Kenneth Freeman II, whose vision birthed Theta Rho Nu and whose commitment to excellence, scholarship, and service keeps us moving ever forward toward destined greatness.

We celebrate Executive Vice President David Dodd, whose loyalty, wisdom, and steady counsel strengthen our foundation and ensure that our mission is not only spoken but lived.

As a brotherhood of professional same-gender-loving men of color, we recognize that Dr. King’s dream calls us to action.
