Tomorrow (4/18) is sale day! The auction opens at 8 am and extended bidding starts at 1 pm (the auction will close when no bid has been placed for 5 mins after 1 pm). The sheep will be on display at the Beef Education Unit in Raleigh all day tomorrow! Come check them out! If you can't be there, bid online and pick them up later! Delivery options available to Georgia, Virginia, Iowa and all places in between.

We are very excited about the offering. These Katahdin rams represent a year of data collection for traits related to parasite resistance in a forage-based environment. The Dorset rams are all twin born, twin reared fall-borns. Thank you to all of the farm and research station management that made this possible!

A few important reminders about our sale this year. ALL sheep sell ONLINE and the sale is on a SATURDAY! The auction will open at 8 am and extended bidding starts at 1 pm. Beginning at 1 pm, the sale will remain open for an additional 5 minutes if a bid is placed on any lot. This gives you a chance to make additional bids or bid on other rams should you be outbid on your first choice.

Looking forward to the opportunity to head to Texas! We will be marketing a group of yearling rams in San Angelo on March 14. All rams have NSIP EBVs with f***l egg count data, have been developed on pasture, and have withstood significant parasite challenge.

We've been busy this summer evaluating about 60 ram lambs for growth and parasite resistance in a grazing environment with supplementation. We are very happy with the data set generated, associated estimated breeding values, and the opportunity to identify superior rams for forage-based production systems in the Southeast. That said, we will not be having a ram sale this fall. Instead, we've decided to hold elite rams over the winter and offer them in three consignment sales (Wolfpack Round Up in April, NSIP Center of the Nation Sale in July and EAPK Annual Sale in July) and one online sale next spring. Expect to see about 25 yearling NSIP Katahdin rams offered next year!
