General information
ASPIRE is designed to bridge deficits in rural high school students’ performance on the ACT College Entrance Examination in order to increase the number of students pursuing higher education. This is a cooperative initiative through the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at North Carolina State University and North Carolina Cooperative Extension. The A.S.P.I.R.E. program is currently being offered in 29 different counties across the state of North Carolina. These counties include: Cherokee, Haywood, Madison, Mitchell, Rutherford, Burke, Ashe, Alexander, Catawba, Lincoln, Davie, Rowan, Davidson, Stanly, Union, Montgomery, Person, Robeson, Warren, Johnston, Sampson, Wayne, Wilson, Northampton, Pitt, Hertford, Chowan, Camden, and Pasquotank.
