Chaffey Puente Project

Chaffey Puente Project Puentistas are a family of students joined together by one goal: transferring out of community college to a four-year university.

Puentistas become a family over the course of one academic year, taking English courses together and helping each other realize the other's goals. Throughout the year, they they are faced with the same challenges every college student deals with, and they help each other through and learn new ways to handle all that life throws at them. In addition to learning stress relief techniques, Puentistas

develop goals for themselves and form their own definition of success. They learn the importance of generosity through volunteer activities and also learn the importance of teamwork through various fundraising activities. After all of this hard work, the students get the enormous privilege of going on a road trip together to tour many UC campuses. The Puente Program of Chaffey College is a very rewarding and helpful resource, and with it the already goal-oriented and determined Puentistas become ambitious individuals with the motivation and support needed to guide them toward ultimate success!
